Hi folks,
here are some cool news for our team..

It is official now..Terrestrica won Microsoft ISV award - most innovative solution!

Few weeks ago we presented Mobycon solution and Terrestrica to a jury in Microsoft office in Zagreb and the award was given to us during regional Microsoft WinDays conference in Rovinj this week.

This was a great surprise!

In the middle: Terrestrica team member specially trained to survive in the noisy media surroundings :)

XMas gift from Terrestrica iPhone team

Our iPhone team give us a little present for XMas … the first (still unofficial and unfinished) version of Terrestrica iPhone app.

It looks great but more important it works great … thanks to the iPhone superb hardware the Terrestrica iPhone app works really fast and smooth.
We hope it will be finished soon.

Also,one of our XMas wishes was that Microsoft release a new version of Windows Mobile and to release Windows Phone as they announced earlier this year…

Geotag your old photos from Terrestrica web app. and share it on Facebook, Twitter and Picasa

New stuff regarding geotagging are here . This feature you can use without any mobile phone or GPS. You can simply use it to manage your photos on Terrestrica or/and send it to some popular services like Facebook, Twitter and Picasa.

In order to use this feature, you need to login at Terrestrica and go to “My media” section.. There you will find “Add photos” button…

It seems that we are working better over the 30+ degrees celsius ..

We really like this geotagging issue and think it is fun and very useful. Beside Facebook and Terrestrica, now you can send your photos directly to Twitter from your GPS phone. This is how its look like for Twitter:

Sending geotagged photos to Picasa is very smooth and easy. It will be automatically created new album on Picasa called “Terrestrica GeoTagged Photos” with all your photos sent from Terrestrica mobile app. In the sidebar, there is a map with location for each photo and many other nice Picasa options.

New Feature! Geotag Your photos and share it on Facebook and Terrestrica

Hello folks,
we have just implemented cool & useful feature in Terrestrica Mobile app.
From now you can easy create geotagged photos with your GPS enabled phone camera and publish it on FaceBook and, of course, Terrestrica .. and You can do it all in once.. with one click directly from Terrestrica Mobile application.

To publish geotagged photos on Facebook you should install Terrestrica Facebook application You will be able to see your geotagged photos on the interactive map and also photos of your friends.

In Terrestrica administration area, in the main menu, you can see the link “My Media files”. That’s the place where all your geotagged photos will be archived and ready to publish on Terrestrica or share with Facebook.
Also, You can use those geotagged photos to create new locations on Terrestrica.

So, try it out ! Geotagging has never been so easy … you can also find some Help here

July 21, Server migration … let’s your GPS phone take a rest :)

Our hosting provider inform us that tomorrow, June 21., they will be performing a migration of the server to a new hardware platform so hopefuly, Terrestrica should be down less than 30 minutes during the migration…

It was interesting to read all those articles about Terrestrica in different blogs and e-zines these days. We notice that some media put our advertising and revenue model in the first plan and others were more focused on technology possibilities on Terrestrica and some were not focused at all

So, we decide to share with You our vision of Terrestrica.

First, we don’t want to be just one more mobile travel guide.. Terrestrica is ideal for enthusiasts, business and creative people and companies who will use Terrestrica to create unique, original and interesting geo content. That’s the reason why we have not put thousands of locations in Terrestrica already by ourselves… it is really not big problem to find some boring geo-data these days.

Some examples

- travel agency could define its own locations with their own text and photos showing some place in completely different perspective then usually
- some street artist could mark his “working spot” and said “I will be here today at 5PM…” and he may also include his previous works as a photo gallery or even video file.
- some marketing agency could mark popular bus station with note: “Hey, there is a big discount in the store across the street..don’t miss that”
- somebody could mark some cool diving spots right there on the sea just for fun
- grocery store could mark location in front of the store with description, daily offer, photos etc.
- …..

..and yes, you could also mark some famous spots, points of interests and all other locations that has some value for you and other people.
Remember also that the “owner” of the location has also the possibility to enter his phone,e-mail, web address so mobile user can contact him directly.

Server problem caused by You :)

We are experiencing some server problem in the Administration Area because of the large amount of downloads and users of Terrestrica. We are working on it so please, please be patient.
On the other hand..thank You for killing our servers… this is after all a good news for any startup..isn’t it?
